Testing Online Access for Routine Requests

From 1 October 2025, GP practices across the country will be required to keep their online consultation tool open between 8am and 6.30pm for routine requests on the days they are usually open. This will allow patients to make non-urgent requests, submit medication queries, and raise administrative requests.

In preparation for this change, we will be testing our online consultation tool during September to ensure this runs smoothly. This will mean that;

  • If you have a routine (non-urgent) request, you can submit your request online using the Dr.iQ app, powered by Evergreen.
  • Simply select the option: “I need help, but it’s not urgent.” Please note that any requests submitted using this option will be responded to by a member of the team within 5 working days.
  • You can also use the app to make requests about medications or administrative issues (such as sick notes or test result queries).
  • We are asking patients not to submit more than one request about the same issue, as sending more may delay our response.

Important to know during the pilot

  • This is a trial period to test the best way of introducing the new system.
  • To make sure it works smoothly for patients, we may occasionally switch the option off temporarily so that we can make improvements.
  • Our aim is to make accessing routine care as easy and reliable as possible for you.
  • Patients should continue to access same day/urgent care in the usual way.

We welcome your feedback during this testing phase and thank you for helping us shape the future of online access.
